The regiment faces logistical chaos, tropical hardships, and the constant threat of ambush as they advance toward Cuba.
The narrative builds toward the Battle of San Juan Hill, a pivotal moment in the war. The Rough Riders, under Roosevelt’s leadership, launch a desperate, outnumbered charge up a defended hill against entrenched Spanish forces. The film dramatizes the bravery, discipline, and camaraderie of the volunteers, portraying them as embodying raw American vitality in the face of overwhelming odds.
